چکیده
Abstract Vitamin E nicotinate is an ester of tocopherol (vitamin E) and niacin B3). Niacin linked to the hydroxyl group active vitamin E, blocking free radical scavenging properties. While this can be chemically synthesized, whether formed from in biological system unclear. Metabolomics analysis performed our laboratory demonstrated that level 30-fold lower rats suffering inflammatory state. The rat diet contained acetate separately (but not form nicotinate), only other forms was decreased, suggesting system. To test if functions independently simply serving as a source we also metabolomics compare effects on cultured cells those + added separately. Results revealed treated with for 10 min had significantly higher levels molecules anti-inflammatory properties including anandamide, virodhamine, palmitamide, oleamide, oleoylethanolamide. niacin) phosphorylated activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), which serves signal. These results suggest new function molecule through non-direct effects. Supported by grants NIH (R21 AG73919, R03 AG71596)

Vitamin E Nicotinate
Vitamin E refers to a family of compounds that function as lipid-soluble antioxidants capable of preventing lipid peroxidation. Naturally occurring forms of vitamin E include tocopherols and tocotrienols. Vitamin E in dietary supplements and fortified foods is often an esterified form of α-tocopherol, the most common esters being acetate and succinate. The vitamin E esters are hydrolyzed and co...
متن کامل1-Methylnicotinamide: a potent anti-inflammatory agent of vitamin origin.
It has been found that 1-methylnicotinamide (MNA+), a metabolite of nicotinamide, possesses significant anti-inflammatory properties. MNA+ is chemically stable, non-toxic and well tolerated. MNA+ can be used to treat wide variety of diseases and disorders and the use of this compound provides certain advantages over the use of nicotinamide.
متن کاملThe Anti-Inflammatory Role of Vitamin E in Prevention of Osteoporosis
There is growing evidence that inflammation may be one of the causal factors of osteoporosis. Several cytokines such as IL-1, IL-6, RANKL, OPG, and M-CSF were implicated in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis. These cytokines are important determinants of osteoclast differentiation and its bone resorptive activity. Anticytokine therapy using cytokine antagonists such as IL-receptor antagonist and ...
متن کاملA Comparison of Therapeutic and Anti-inflammatory Properties of Triamcinolone and Placebo (Vitamin A) in Treatment of Paederus Dermatitis
Abstract Background and purpose: Paederus associated dermatitis has always been considered as a health problem in the northern of Iran. Since until now, the traditional method and some corticosteroids have been used in the treatment of Paederus dermatitis (PD) and no comprehensive studies have been carried out on the new method of treatment. Therefore, this study was aimed to compare the anti-i...
متن کاملGasdermin D Exerts Anti-inflammatory Effects by Promoting Neutrophil Death
Gasdermin D (GSDMD) is considered a proinflammatory factor that mediates pyroptosis in macrophages to protect hosts from intracellular bacteria. Here, we reveal that GSDMD deficiency paradoxically augmented host responses to extracellular Escherichia coli, mainly by delaying neutrophil death, which established GSDMD as a negative regulator of innate immunity. In contrast to its activation in ma...
